Best High Yew Wood Windsor Armchairs

Two very similar yew wood Windsor armchairs. The high backs with a fretted Christmas Tree motif in the upper and lower splats. Although bearing no stamp, the quality of these chairs would suggest they were made by the Allsop family of Worksop, in the mid 19th Century. Interestingly, the Allsop trade card shows the identical chair, and I have never seen this type of chair with any other identification (Mr Allsop's price for this chair was 14 shillings or 70 pence, if rockers were to be added the cost was an extra shilling).

Worksop, circa 1840-1850
