A Lovely Small Charles I Oak Carved Panel
Having a central flower head erupting from well-carved stylised leaves and foliage, the flower is open and displays many petals erupting from the top.
The background has fine punch decoration, to present a “stippled” surface. The back of the panel has a deep pronounced chamfer, suggesting it would be the centre of a door set within a frame.
Fabulous colour and surface.
English, circa 1630.
Width 12.5 inches, height 8 inches.
Ref 3025
