A Small Charles II Oak Chest of Drawers
The boarded top (secured to the rails by beautiful oak pegs) sits above a dentil-moulded frieze, terminating at either end by bold scroll-cut corbels. The drawers, separated by a strong waist-mould, are all decorated with raised and moulded panels. The deep bottom moulding skirts around the original stile feet.
An excellent example of a Charles II moulded front chest.
English, circa 1680.
Width 36 inches, depth 23 inches, height 32 inches.
