A Superb Charles II Oak Dresser Base
The thick two plank top, over three drawers, all decorated with intricate geometric moulding. A heavy waist-moulding has corner spandrels to the boldly turned baluster legs, which terminate in a cup foot.
The oak the joiner has used has exceptionally well-marked grain, which has achieved an outstanding skin or patina.
The base bears an owner’s brand – TB – which is struck twice to the block of the top of the left leg.
